Vang Vieng

Had a great ride into Vang Vieng from Laung Prabang. Had paved roads the whole way, which was nice. Today will be a different story. Vang Vieng is a beautiful town that had a naughty past. This used to be the backpacker stop to fill up on drugs and other goodies before traveling on as of a few years ago. Luckily Laos has cleaned it up. Town sits nestled in the middle of limestone peaks and has a nice river running through it for kayaking etc. Its now an adventure town with rock climbing and other activities to keep one busy. Not much of a rock climber so going to push on towards the plain of jars in the north. Going to try some back roads so hopefully that works out. Few back stretches and I'm out.
