Catch Me if You Can
Aug 17-18 Left Marpha on the 17th after a long night of heavy raining. We had passed numerous areas on the way up to Muktinath where landslides were waiting to happen, so over breakfast we assumed we were in for a treat, and we were. We drove along the river and noticed fresh landslides on the other side of the river; it was just a matter of time before we came upon one on our side. When we arrived at the first major landslide it was a little unnerving. The road was comp

Mountain Emergency Room
Aug 16th Left Pokhara for the Annapurna Conservation Area Friday morning headed towards Muktinath and it already feels like it’s been a week. My guide and owner of Wild Track Adventures Sherap Sherpa drove up a Honda XR400 from Kathmandu for me while he got the raw end of the deal riding the Royal Enfiled Bullet I had rented a few days prior. The road out of Pokhara quickly turned form pavement to dirt, rock, and more rock with various landslides. This is landslide season

Aug 13th I find myself in one hell of a situation at the moment. My car is stuck on natural disaster island, Pakistan embassy wont process my visa, or nigles, China route around Pakistan from Nepal is closed, China route via Burma is flooded and bridges decimated, my hair keeps falling out, China permissions, if we find a route, will take over a month to process and is 10k, India has been ravaged by landslides if we make it through, and I stubbed my toe today. Feel like I’m

Take a Left from Myanmar and hello Nepal
Aug 10th Nepal While the chariot is stuck, we’ve flown to Nepal and jumped on a motorcycle. Drove to a town called Bandipur, and if you are ever in Nepal you are going to want to give it a day or two. It is a brilliant little village half way to Pokhara. Because we are close to India, I think the drivers here feel they can drive around like the devil himself is chasing them. Inhaling exhaust fumes and dust has given me massive headaches, but it’s the feeling of passing dr

And a River Runs Through it.
Aug 10th Sitting in Pokhara Nepal realizing I left out a ton of interesting events in Myanmar. If you have seen the pictures on the facebook page you can see the devastation Myanmar is in the midst of. If you needed more proof Angelina Jolie showed up for a week and stole two babies to add to her collection of South East Asian babies. Not sure about the second part but she did show up. There are 14 states in Myanmar and the flood hit 11 of them hard. Chin state (where

Malay three days in. (this is old)
July 31st Been in Kalay (kale) for 3 days now and the situation is has gone from bad to bleak. At first a few villages and the road to india were flooded, but with continuous rain 3 of the 5 dams in the area have broke (well they tell me they broke but when dams break I would assume most of the northern territories would be 20ft under water…not exactly the case). So now Kalay has become a relief town and you walk outside and people are herding cows and pigs down the street wh
